Mike Ryan grew up in Chicago, where he still has family and friends. His education includes an Associate in Applied Science (Aerospace Technology) and Bachelor of Arts (Occupational Education). He went on to achieve a successful career in the U.S. Air Force. After his retirement from the Air Force his focus changed and he became a Youth Correctional Counselor with the California Department of Corrections, Juvenile Justice Division. He has spent the last fifteen years working with incarcerated youth. Mike`s travels have taken him to several unusual places around the world, whether as a member of the Air Force or as an adventure seeker.
Mike`s photography is simple, straight forward and usually conveys a message. He shoots things that are of interest to him; many have described his work as eye catching and discernibly appealing. His images are what people understand and enjoy. Each piece that is displayed is his best at that time. Mike`s work has been displayed in businesses, restaurants and several art galleries in the Sacramento, California area.
